A new university baseball champion could be crowned on Sunday. LSU won Coastal Carolina in match 1 of the final of the World Series college on Saturday in a duel of a 1-0 launcher to put himself on the edge of a second national title in three years.
The LSU launcher, Kade Anderson, dazzled on the hill, removing 10 strikers in a complete laundering which saw him throw 130 throws. Not being outdone was the Cameron Flukey coastal launcher, who made a strong performance on six rounds. A lonely race marked during the first round of Flukey turned out to be the decision maker.
Now, the Chanticleers will have to bounce back quickly to keep the hopes of a second national title in the history of the program. Before Saturday’s defeat, Coastal Carolina had won an amazing 26 games in a row.
Match 2 is a pick’em, but sportsbooks see races getting up on the set with total races at 8.5.
