Ladies European Tour: Wales’ Darcey Harry claims maiden victory with three-shot win at Hulencourt Women’s Open | Golf News
Darcey Harry won his title European Tour (Let) for the young girl’s women with an impressive three -stroke victory at the Halencourt Women’s Open in Belgium.
The Welshman has entered the final round of a stroke behind Avani Prashanth and recovered from a first Bogey à la carte Four Birdies in a stretch of six holes in the fifth to reach the three turn in advance.
Harry canceled a Bogey in the 11th with an exploded eagle-Birdie from the 13th, extending his advantage on the hunting pack, with a four-mine of 68 to finish the week on 13 sous.
The victory comes just one day after being 22 years old and sees her following Mimi Rhodes from England to win in the recruit season of Let, with Harry Fier to overcome the nerves to ensure the biggest title of his career to date.
“I don’t even know what to say for the moment,” said Harry. “I am so excited. I didn’t think I never imagined winning on the Let, so it’s so pleasant to know that I did it.
“I started with a Bogey, but there is a lot of chances of Birdie there because the class condition is so good. If you hit good shots, you are rewarded and I hit some good putts today.
“I think I went out today to try to get a good score, so I wanted to prove to myself that I could continue with another good show on the course. I did not really think in the standings which, I think, really helped me today.”
Harry finished three features of Nastasia Nadaud, who finished the week at 10, with Amelia Garvey, New Zealand, Amelia Garvey, still pulled in third position after a last round 66.
Germany Helen Briem ended the week in fourth place and Lauren Walsh from Ireland shared fifth with the leader of the night Prashant, who returned to seven years after a three out of 75, with Cara Gainer in England in seventh and seven blows.
