Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua can only fight each other now, says former world champion George Groves | Boxing News
If Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have to fight, they should box, explains the former world champion George Groves.
Joshua has not been boxed since September of last year, when his attempt to become Triple Titlist in the heavyweight world ended with an overwhelming fifth round defeat against the holder of the IBF belt Daniel Dubois.
Last year, Fury lost two decisions against the unbeaten champion and still unified Oleksandr Usyk and announced his retirement in January.
However, he regularly published images of his training, which fueled speculation on a potential return.
Dillian Whyte, erased to return to boxing after a screening screening test, chose to box Moses Itauma on August 16, rather than pursuing a revenge match formerly shot with AJ. This leaves Joshua without a clear option for his next fight.
Regarding the former world champion and expert in boxing George Groves, there is only one choice Fury and Joshua should make.
“If I were one or the other guy, I would just fight and that’s it. I would not care about other fights. I’m sure the money is great and that, but who will pay by the nose so that one or the other guy is not fighting?” Brutes told Sky Sports.
“Recording it now, fight each other without more mileage on the clock, more risks. The things are mistaken in the camp or even the evening of the fight. The two have been beaten. Fury has not won well for a long time.
British heavy goods vehicles have been longtime rivals and Groves think that their resentment match will finally occur.
“There must be a number that is worth it for the two guys. Maybe they only wait for this number,” he said. “You don’t need to announce this fight now if it does not happen before October.
“This fight will be nailed. He was operated on, Joshua, and Fury is running. I’m almost sure they are going to box in September, October, revenge next year.”
But that would require Fury to get out of retirement. There was no confirmation of this and its promoter Frank Warren said that the decision is still at stake.
“Whether back or not, I have no idea. It will be his choice. He trains hard, he is all the time in the gymnasium. It is something he needs that he must do, it helps him with his bipolar,” said Warren Sky Sports. “For the moment, he is in a very good place.
“He appreciates the fruits of his work, the hard work he has devoted over the years. He has earned a lot of money, he does not need to do it for money. If he does it, it is because he is a real fighter and that is what he must do. But he will make this decision.
“He has other things that happen in his life. But if he wants to do it, he will.”
