The chairman of the Turkish football disciplinary committee should resign after text messages on the boss of Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho, were made public.
Sky Sports News Understands Celil Nuri Demirturk told the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to resign and that his official resignation letter should follow, while other members of the PFDK (Professional Football Discipline Committee) can also follow suit.
He follows what Fenerbahce calls “hostile” declarations on Mourinho in the disclosed Whatsapp conversations, allegedly between the members of the Committee. The TFF has been approached for comments, but he has not yet answered.
Fenerbahce is also concerned with other alleged internal exchanges which, they say, suggest a bias towards their galatasaray rivals.
Fenerbahce says that the comments “clearly violate the principle of impartiality”. They continue by saying: “Our club made an official request to the Turkish Football Federation in response to the correspondence which was made public and which belongs to the members of the Professional Football Disciplinary Council.
“We believe that this hostile mentality, which clearly violates the principle of impartiality and is based on confrontations and revenge, has no place in Turkish sports.
“The fact that the members of one of the most important councils responsible for establishing justice in Turkish football make these declarations not only the concept of” discipline “dysfunction, but also constitutes a clear attack on the principles of impartiality and equality in sports.
“As Fenerbahce Sports Club, we will follow the question and continue our fight for clean football until the end.”
It is understood that WhatsApp Exchange relates to Mourinho and an exclusive interview with which he did Sky Sports News After being banned for four games (later reduced to two) in February.
