Jonquel Jones injury update: Liberty star to miss four to six weeks with sprained ankle

New York Liberty star Jonquel Jones should miss an important time with an ankle sprain. On Saturday, the team announced that Jones will be released for the next four to six weeks while his ankle heals.
Jones came out of Thursday evening’s match against the Phoenix Mercury and did not return. A more in -depth assessment revealed that Jones had staggered his right ankle, which had already been walked once in June.
In their announcement, the Liberty said that Jones walked the same ankle against the mystics of Washington on June 5.
“After an additional imagery and evaluation, Jonquet avoided long -term injuries, and it should go back to the playing action in about four to six weeks. Other updates will be provided, if necessary,” the team said in a statement.
The WNBA 2021 MVP and an All-Star five times, Jones has always been incredibly effective when it is on the ground. In just nine games played, Jones is on average 12.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
On the basis of the team calendar, Jones could lack nine to 15 games. Even if freedom struggles with Jones out of programming, they have a margin of error thanks to their 10-2 record, which is second in the WNBA.
