Scott Frost is again a university football coach. His return to the UCF marks the dawn of a new era for a rising column formerly to industry, whose trajectory took a nose during a catastrophic passage to his Alma Mater. Frost said that after the defaulting mandate of Nebraska, there was no motivation to make his feet on the college’s touch line. However, this changed when UCF’s work opened after Gus Malzahn’s departure to become the offensive coordinator of Florida State.

It was with the Knights in 2016 and 2017 that Frost made a name for himself in the ranks of chief coaches. He made his debut with a campaign of six victories and followed him with the first undefeated season in school history. All this came after Frost inherited a list which went without victory the year before his arrival.

“I had no interest in returning to university,” said Frost in Sports Illustrated. “I was going to stay in the NFL. Then my agent called me and gave me an opinion that it could happen. This is probably the only university work I would have taken because we were happy here. We love Orlando, like being in Florida, the growth potential of the UCF. And rather than pursuing jobs across the country, [my wife and I] could raise our children here. “”

The UCF Homecoming has a lot of meaning given the history of Frost with the program. All he did in Orlando was to improve the stock of knights. This increase finally led to a Big 12 invitation, placing the UCF at the level of the power conference after years as one of the most important groups of five operations in sport.

Frost said this spring that the Big 12 has a unique opportunity for the UCF, making a road to the university football playoffs as an oppressed program. The competitive and wide backs of the conference that claim – the unexpected rise in Arizona State in last season last season is an excellent example – and could lend itself to a pleasant rebound mandate for a coach who fell in disgrace with his biggest fans during the dark days in Nebraska.

While he moved away from the university match after his 2022 shot, Frost was no stranger to football during free time. He made his debut in the NFL in 2024 when Sean Mcvay welcomed him to the Rams of Los Angeles as a main analyst, mainly to help the unit of special teams but also to work with the offensive and the defense.
