Eliza Dushku begins career in mental health 8 years after last role
Well after winning Hearts by saving the day as a vampire Slayer, Eliza Dushku helps save the world in a whole new way.
THE Buffy The Vampire Slayer The Alun is preparing for a new career in mental health counseling after obtaining its master’s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass., Earlier this month. Dushku, 44, recently went to Instagram to celebrate her accomplishment, sharing a video of her that crosses the scene to recover her diploma.
“Graduated with my mastery (!!) looks more like an achievement – it looks like a deep call made. True growth, energy and passion – manifest itself,” wrote Dushku in the legend of post, which also presented photos of her in a cap and a dress alongside her husband, Peter Palandjian, their two sons and her flames. “After almost a decade of inner work and to build a new life, I am so grateful for this moment in time.”
She shouted her “highest self – for having distant this wild jump from everything I knew and that it happens”, as well as her boys “for the little Made & Love sacrifices that you gave, every day to honor and support this dream.”
THE Bring it Star continued to express her gratitude for the support she has received from her community while continuing her studies, writing: “And to my family, my friends – new and old – my colleagues / classmates, teachers / teachers and community, I thank: for having rooted, encourage me day after clinical training.”
She concluded the sincere post: “Today, I am in the ground and ready to support others in their travels to become – by discovery of oneself, healing and transformation. The connectivity that I feel by holding a safe and compassionate space for those who seek the company is such a life now. To possibility and healing, all.”
Dushku moved away from the action in 2017 to start working for his career in mental health council – his “real vocation”, according to a press release published Thursday. It has become certified in psychedelic assisted therapy.
In an interview in 2024 with Boston magazineShe spoke of her desire to withdraw from the action in favor of her new career, revealing that at the time, she and her husband financed research and clinical trials in the potential uses of psychedelics.
“I had the means to change direction and choose a course in my life that focused on healing so that I can help heal the others,” said Dushku. “I would be neglected if I did not start now the transformation and peace and the passion that I have. It is absolutely so clearly my true vocation, my real goal.”

Dusku has left a memorable career of actor roles, especially by playing the faith of Slayer Buffy and spin-offs series Angel And direct Fox Tri call And Dollhouse.
In 2018, Dushku wrote an account of 2,300 words for the Boston Globe slam Bull Costar Michael Weatherly, writer-producer Glenn Gordon Caron, and CBS after the news announced that it was paid $ 9.5 million by the network after alleging that she had been sexually harassed by Weatherly during her stay on the procedure. (Weatherly did not admit sexual harassment but apologized for her behavior towards Dushku in a declaration to the New York TimesCharacterizing it as rare and inappropriate attempts of humor. In the interview with Dushku with Boston magazineShe remembers feeling “feeling so despite” her past trauma – including her assault presumed by the coordinator of a film’s waterfalls at the age of 12 – while using psychedelics, which has finally helped her to treat the past.
“I could not have done all of this without this therapy and healing assisted by Psychedelic who showed me that I was safe in my body and in my life, name and tell the truth about things,” said Dushku. “And everything is catapulted from there.”
