Rob McElhenney explains ‘douchey’ choice to change his name
It is always beautiful in Philadelphia Star Rob Mcelherney knows that you think it’s “a little shower” to change his name to Rob Mac, but here is the thing – he doesn’t really care.
The actor went to social networks on Tuesday to explain his decision in a typically comical video simply subtitled, “I said what I said.”
“Okay, I’m going to devote exactly a minute to this. Start the clock,” he started, spotting a timer on the screen in that he did. “Yes, I shorten my name to Rob Mac. Above all, a stage name, but I’m getting lost. Is it a little shower? Of course.”
But, “he continued,” while I lost while trying to bring people to say or spell my name properly is literally days of my life-believe me, I added it. ” While he spoke, clips of people who flock his name played in the background.
In addition, Mcelhenney is not the only one to have been the victim of his name. Always generous with the fans, the actor said that he was also looking for their interest with the change of name, joking: “More importantly, this means that thousands of you have had minutes of your life stolen by me because of my family name.”
Except that, as he pointed out, Mcelhenney is not Really The “name F — ING” of his family. Although he admitted that he loved his family and the “heritage” shared inherent in a common family name, everything is a little ironic, because “not only have many generations changed the spelling, the current spelling was just given to my ancestor by an official of the government who decided that it was now spelling.”
As proof, Mcelhenney provided an old photo of his great-great-grandmother with a manuscript legend who said that his name was Bridget Mcillhenny. Mcelhenney then concluded that “times have changed and most people call me Rob Mac anyway. My family knows me and loves me, no matter the number of syllables I have, and it’s the only thing that is really close to my heart. There is so much in the world, and it’s silly to continue your time.”
In the end, Mcelhenney said he did not care what you call him – Marion, Jerome, Archibald, Eric, Maurice, Stephanie, Frances, Marvin, Gordon or Sam – but maybe go with Rob Mac for the moment.
