Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs found not guilty of sex trafficking Cassie Ventura

The disgraced music magnate Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of two accusations related to prostitution, but paid more serious accusations of sexual traffic and racketeering in his federal trial closely watched in New York.

A jury of 12 people found Combs, 55, guilty of two transport managers to engage in prostitution on Wednesday, after six weeks of testimonies and three days of deliberations. He was recognized as not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two sex trafficking leaders.

The fractional verdict is widely considered a victory for Combs, which faced life for life in terms of sex traffic and racketeering. He is now facing 20 years behind bars.

When the verdict was read in court, Combs kissed his lawyer Teny Geragos. The Combs legal team and representatives of the American lawyer’s office for the South New York district did not immediately respond to Weekly entertainmentComment request.

During a hearing after reading the verdict, the American district judge Arun Subramanian rejected the bond of Combs and ordered him to remain in detention until the conviction. The judge proposed a conviction for October, while the defense asked for a conviction as soon as possible.

Federal prosecutors in the trial accused combs of leading a criminal enterprise which “mistreated, threatened and forced women and others around him to respond to his sexual desires, protect his reputation and hide his conduct,” according to an indictment.

The star witness of the accusation, the ex-girlfriend of Combs, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, testified through tears on the durable “freak-offs”, the sex marathons fueled by drugs with males who, according to her, were orchestrated by Combs and left her feeling “humiliated”.

Combs lawyers argued that all the sex in question in the case was consensual.

Ventura, whose explosive trial in 2023 caused the Federal Combs investigation, also testified to a 2016 incident taken on video in which Combs attacked it in a hotel. She allegedly alleged that Combs had “frequently”, sunging it with videos of monsters and raped it in 2018, towards the end of their relationship.

Another ex-girlfriend, identified by the pseudonym “Jane”, also told in her testimony an intense love story with combs that have led to unwanted sex sessions. She said that she had also become financial in combs, allowing her to exercise control over her.

Prosecutors allegedly alleged that combat holds had also committed crimes such as corruption, kidnapping and criminal fire.

Defense lawyers called for no witness and laid their file after about 20 minutes. Combs did not testify in the trial.

In response to the verdict, Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, said in a press release provided to EW: “Although the jury did not find combs guilty of Cassie sexual trafficking, she paved the way for a jury to judge him guilty of transport to engage in prostitution.”

He also praised Ventura for what leaves an “indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice” and showing “exemplary courage throughout this trial”.

“She showed an undeniable force and drew attention to the realities of powerful men on our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussions,” said Wigdor. “This case has proven that change has been expected for a long time, and we will continue to fight on behalf of the survivors.”

Combs – which was alternately known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy and Love – was one of the most important figures in hip -hop for decades, founding Bad Boy Records in 1993 and working closely with artists such as The Notorious Big, Mary J. Blige and Usher.

But the rapper, producer and public image of the entrepreneur have been examined in recent years because he has been affected by a series of civil proceedings accusing him of a range of sexual abuse. He denied allegations.

The federal agents made a descent into two of the properties of Combs in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024, and he was arrested in Manhattan in September, following an indictment of the Grand Jury.
