Kaoru Mitoma told Brighton that he wanted to stay at the club and sign a new agreement.
Brighton wants to sit with Japan in the future to discuss improved conditions and an extension of his contract.
The club wants to reward Mitoma for its performances with a new agreement which reflects its importance for the team of Fabian Hurzeler.
The current Mitoma agreement in Brighton is exhausted in two years.

Fabian Hurzeler says that Brighton tries to keep their best players and think that Kaoru Mitoma is an important part of the mold configuration.
Brighton rejected the offers of the Saudi Pro League Club Al Nassr For Mitoma in the winter window. Bayern Munich Also do it on a list of targets for the left position this summer.
Brighton Boss Hurzeler said Sky Sports News: “We are trying to keep our best players.
