BMW International Open: England’s Marco Penge in share of first-round lead | Golf News

The Englishman Marco Penge was part of an equality of five lanes at the top of an online ranking after the first round of the BMW International Open.

Penge carded eight birdies, an abandoned shot and a double bogey to set the goal of the clubhouse five under the peer in the munchen golf course.

The Gavin Green of Malaysia had a more calm opening round of six birdies and a bogey in its 67th birthday, while Ding Wenyi in China has sneaked four of its last five holes – to go with an eagle, another gain and two shots – to reach five sous.

The Dutchman Darius Van Driel signed for six Birdies and a Bogey to reach the summit, while Ugo Coussaud, France, produced the tour of the day with his flawless 67.

“This course is the one I can’t wait to come back,” said Penge. “Personally, I have the impression that for a long striker, there are a lot of advantages.

“Many tee-shots that you can win a lot of blows. It’s nice to be in a golf course where you can let it tear up a little. And coming from last week, last week was like the polar opposite. I was really looking forward to coming here.

“Obtaining a PGA Tour card is my biggest goal, my main goal for the season.”

Eighteen players are two plans from the leading quintet, the English trio Nathan Kimsey, Richard Mansell and Jordan Smith and Scott Jamieson in Scotland leading the hunting pack at four.

The Scottish pair of Richie Ramsay and Grant Forrest direct the group of 10 people with three sous, but compatriot and reigning champion Ewen Ferguson is three.
