Poland Darts Masters: Jonny Clayton suffers first-round exit to home hero Krzysztof Ratajski | Darts News

Krzysztof Ratajski delighted his crowd of worship with a memorable 6-3 victory against Jonny Clayton during the opening evening of the Masters of Darts of Poland 2025 Friday.

Ratajski underlined its status as No 1 in Poland with a superb screen, with an average of more than 100 and pinning six of his eight attempts to double while he was deleting three straight legs of 3-3 to raise the roof to the prezero arena in Gliwice.

The reigning champion Luke Littler crossed a brilliant battle against Karel Sedlacek to open his defense with an entertaining 6-4 victory.

There was nothing to separate the pair after six legs, but Littleler established control with clinical combinations 101 and 120, before finishing the procedures with a clutch finish 76 on the top.

The first round of Friday saw the eight superstars of the PDC locking up the horns with their eight counterparts from Eastern Europe, with Ratajski the lonely regional representative to progress to the finals day.

“Karel is a high -level player and he pushed me throughout tonight,” reflected Littleler, who has an average of 97 and crashed in six 180s to reserve his place in the last eight. “I just tried to play my game, and I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere here tomorrow.”

Littleler will renew his rivalry with Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-final, after the Stockport star pushed a late Radek Szaganski rally to close a hard success of 6-4.

Aspinall – finalist during the Masters darts of last weekend – recorded consecutive victories on Littler on the World Series stage in Copenhagen and New York and hopes to finish the triple on Saturday.

Chris Dobey was one of the most remarkable artists on Friday, producing a magnificent finishing demonstration to ship Gyorgy Jehirszki of Hungary in the tournament’s opening match.

Dobey converted 167, 170 and 110 boxes to fill a 6-1 victory, on average, on average 101 to confirm its place in a quarter-final of the Third World Series this year.

The Bedlington star award is a Saturday evening force test against Gerwyn Price, who challenged a late double problem to sweep the young Pole Sebastian Bialect 6-3.

Rob Cross also missed a winner of 6-2 convincing against the qualifier host Krzysztof Kciuk, and he will then play Michael Van Gerwen, after his 6-4 victory against the Croatian beginner Pero Ljubic.

Elsewhere, the seeded Stephen Bunting began his candidacy for a title of third party World Series of the year with a 6-3 victory against Tytus Kanik, which sets up a fascinating confrontation with the hero of the Ratajski house.

The Masters Poland Darts will reach its highest point with the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final on Saturday, the remaining eight players who are fighting for the first prize of £ 30,000.
