Henry Slade: England back ruled out of remainder of tour of Argentina and USA after suffering hand injury | Rugby Union News
Henry Slade was excluded from the rest of the tour in England in Argentina and the United States after having undergone a hand injury in Saturday’s victory against Los Pumas.
Slade played the 80 full minutes when England took an impressive start of the tour when they won 35-12 at La Plata with a team missing 13 players selected for the tour of the British and Irish lions in Australia.
Slade, aged 32, who is one of the team’s most experienced members with 74 appearances in England, will miss the second match on Saturday with Argentina as well as a single match against the United States a week later.
Slade was joined in the center by beginner Seb Atkinson during the first test against Argentina, but head coach Steve Barthwick will now be forced to change his starting XV.
The non -capped duo Max Ojomoh and Oscar Beard are both candidates to come in the day of the door 23.
Argentina also suffered a blow after the half-failure of Gonzalo Bertranou withdrew from his team for the second test after being injured in the match on Saturday.
The local team called Matteo Albanese to replace the confrontation on Saturday in San Juan.
Sky Sports will exclusively show the tour of the British and Irish lions in 2025 in Australia, with the three tests against the Wallabies and six warm -up matches to show exclusively live.
