Yoane Wissa transfer news: Tottenham remain interested in Brentford forward | Football News
Tottenham Hotspur remains interested in sign Yoane Wissa de Brentford this summer.
The Congo striker interested them in January and was maintained throughout this year.
Brentford is aware of this – but there has not yet been contact between clubs. However, it is understood that the spurs explored the conditions for a potential agreement.
Brentford would be unlikely to sell Wissa and Manchester United Target Bryan Mbeumo.
If the Spurs, or any other club, made an agreement for Wissa, it would become more and more difficult for United to sign Mbeumo.
Tottenham had initial discussions on an agreement for Mbeumo themselves when they hired Brentford head coach Thomas Frank.
Mbeumo, however, wants to move to United, and the talks have not progressed.
Wissa would cost significantly less than 65 million pounds Sterling Mbeumo, with a year remaining on its contract.
Wissa – Signed for only 7.2 million pounds sterling in 2021 – will be 29 years old in September and would provide versatility, with playing anywhere on the front line.
Man utd hope to finalize the Mbeumo agreement in time for US Tour
Manchester United Stay optimistic to conclude an agreement to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford In time for the striker to be part of his pre-season tour of the United States.
United is launching its American tour with a match against West Ham in New Jersey on July 26.
Sky Sports News Understands that there is cautious optimism in United that an agreement can be concluded and that discussions are continuing internally during the next steps.
There remains a gap in the evaluation, but United is not far from the overall costs that Brentford wishes – which could cost 65 million pounds sterling – but there is still work to do on the structure because the club of the western London wants that the majority, if not all, of the costs is paid in advance.
Mbeumo clearly indicated that he only wanted to move to United and that personal conditions would have been agreed in principle.
The sports director of bees, Phil Giles, said Sky Sports News Last week, Mbeumo would be happy to stay at the club if an agreement – which must be “good for Brentford” – does not materialize.
