One of the greatest fighters of the last 30 years should come back to the ring on July 19 when Manny Pacquiao ends his retirement to face Mario Barrios. Pacquiao will seek to add to its legendary curriculum vitae by picking up another championship, because the Welter weight title by Barrios will be at stake.

Pacquiao has not fought professionally since August 2021, when he lost a WBA Welter-Poits title fight against Yordenis Ugas. Adding to this inactivity, UGA fight was the first fight of Pacquiao in more than two years.

Despite this, Pacquiao, 46, seeks to do the unthinkable and eliminate a 30 -year champion to break his own record as the oldest man to win a Welter weight title, an accomplishment made when Pacquiao was 40 years old.

Barrios will seek to add the largest name value victory for his own career. Barrios fought big names in his career, losing a competition fight with Gervonta Davis by the late Tko in 2021 and losing a large decision to Keith Thurman the following year.

After capturing the temporary WBC belt, Barrios was finally promoted to complete champion, retaining the title in November with a draw against Abel Ramos.
