A generally exciting renewal of the July Cup launched another story with 66/1-Shot No Half measures becoming the biggest winner at the price of the group one since its creation since its creation
Richard Hughes’ filly won a victorious shock for the issues of the July Cup of July Basti EquiWorld, Dubai in Newmarket.
At 66-1, she was a real stranger in the competition of group one, and Stall 15, she kept trouble under Neil Callan on the other side of the track.
While the six -stroke event reached the end of the business, she chose rivals and after having locked the horns with Big Mojo, it was not half of measures that came out by a neck with a length and three quarters to run in third.
Hughes led Oasis Dream to Victory in the July 2003 Cup and after following training in 2015, No Half Measures is his first winner of the one as a manager.
An emotional Hughes said: “I just hugs with William Buick and he cut my lip!
“It’s great. The disappointments when you train are very difficult and the ups do not meet the stockings. We believed yesterday Queen, it finished last, which was excruciating, and the tops are not even high enough.
“It is a game from top to bottom, but I do better now than before. It was quite difficult to get here, but I really appreciate it now than when I started.
“I did not appreciate all these good horses when I was riding, I just took it for granted and I was very lucky to drive for Richard Hannon and to have the work Khalid Abdullah – I had the privilege of riding good horses every year.
“It was driving difficult enough to get here, but I really appreciate it now than when I started.”
To have obtained his first group one as a coach, he added: “I removed the monkey on my back which is sure and I can retire now saying that I went up a winner of the July Cup and I trained one, so it’s really nice.

No half-measures won a handicap at this meeting last year before going to group three and listed success, but Hughes admitted that he did not expect to reach the brand at the highest level.
He said: “She won here last year in a handicap and when Ryan (Moore) came out of her, I asked her if we would get a little black type and he said” she is better than that “, which is something that Ryan never says! He is realistic, so I was quite surprised by that.
“We traced to get our black guy and we got it and she only improved.
“There was really very little pressure today. Halfway, I thought it was fine and then I just held my head because I couldn’t believe what was going on!
