Indian film board cuts ‘Superman’ kissing scenes for being too ‘sensual’
If you’re going to see Superman In India, you will not see exactly the same film viewers in other stimulated world parts to become the best world employee of last weekend.
The Central Council for Certification of the Country Film (CBFC) reduced two scenes from the flagship film of the DC universe, which was directed by James Gunn and the stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as a man in sticky and his journalist in love, Lois Lane.
Although the CBFC has asked that several curse words be in mute or cut off from the film, the main cuts that attracted attention represent Corenswet and Brosnahan Kissing. The first takes place at the start of the film, when Clark Kent / Superman is looking for a step in La Cuisine de Lois. The second, a memorable blow of 33 seconds represents Superman lifting laws of his feet inside a shopping arcade while they kiss. In both cases, the film cuts all or part of the kiss while the characters lean, resuming after their separation, and in the two scenes, the actors are entirely dressed.
By justifying the cuts, the CBFC characterized each scene as a “sensual visual”. Weekly entertainment contacted representatives for CBFC, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery to comment.
CBFC recordings indicate that Superman obtained the appropriate certificate on July 7, four days before SupermanWorld exit. The film obtained an AU 13+ certificate, which means that it was authorized for public exhibition without restrictions, but the parental advice was advised for viewers under the age of 13 – almost equivalent to an American note PG -13.
The discovery of the cups has angry certain viewers in India, who highlighted discretion differences for apparently. The violent thriller JaatFor example, released in India in April, was authorized to keep violent decapitation and torture scenes, and there was no problem with several bloody murder scenes in the neo-black in 2024 Haneef Adeni in 2024 Marco. But “Superman Kissing Lois Lane is the place where we will trace the line,” wrote Indian content creator Anmol Jamwal in a Friday X Post.
Actress Shreya Dhanwanthary judged the “ridiculous” cuts in her own Friday post X, adding: “Of course, this is the least of our concerns, but something is done for something else? There is shit every day. Every day.” Shit. “

The anger against the Superman cuts is based on previous reactions to cut F1: the film And Thunderbolts *. The CBFC ordered a shot that represented the star Brad Pitt by watching her phone to see an incoming text with an emoji of the adult changed to the fist emoji. In the latter case, the CBFC asked that some shares be removed or cut from the theatrical cut of the film.
Censorship like this is not unknown to the States Toy story 2 and series like Hannah Montana on its platform.
