Shortly after meeting, however, Joel explained that Weber suddenly “taken off”. The combined loss of her and Small sent the Crooner of “Piano Man” to a depressed spiral who saw her drink “a lot” and contemplate end her life.
“I had no place to live,” said Joel. “I slept in laundries, and I was depressed, I think, to the point of being almost psychotic. So I said to myself, That’s it, I don’t want to live anymore. I just had a lot of pain. It was a bit like, Why go out? Tomorrow will be like today, and today is zero. So I just thought I would finish everything. “”
Joel then tried to commit suicide by ingesting a large amount of sleeping pills that were given to him by his sister, Judy Molinari.
“It was very selfish,” said the five -time winner of the Grammys about his attempt. “I didn’t think of others – how it would have an impact. And then I remember woke up in a hospital. My first thought was, I couldn’t even do this correctly. You can’t even do yourself. So I thought, I will try to redo this.“”
He tried to commit suicide a second time drinking a bottle of lemon promise cleaning liquid, but was rescued by Small, which was able to take him to the hospital in time. Joel added: “Even if our friendship had exploded, Jon saved my life.”
Small finally forgiven Joel to go out with Weber.
“I finally recovered where it was like, okay,” said Small. “He thought it was over for him. And, for me, he hasn’t even started to live yet.”

“I would go to the nurses and I said and said:” Hey, I’m fine. These people are crazy. “Okay, Mr. Joel. “They freed me after a few weeks and I felt grieved – these people had really deep psychiatric problems. I just felt sorry for myself. And I said:” That’s it. I will never feel so sorry for me again. “”
When he was released, Joel said he had “run in the street” and “never looked back”. Although he noted, his time in the room taught him an important lesson on the power of music.
“I got out of the observation room and I said to myself, You can use all these emotions to channel this thing in music,“He said.
Joel finally reconnected with Weber, and the couple got married from 1973 to 1982. Meanwhile, Weber also worked as a commercial director of Joel under the management of the now missing circuits.
