Colbert was notably graceful when he announced the future retirement of the show. While the public members continued to share their news in the news noisily, the host continued to thank CBS, viewers and all the Late show group and staff for their support over the years.

He concluded: “Let me tell you, it’s a fantastic work. I want someone else getting it. And it’s a job that I can’t wait to do with this usual idiot gang for another 10 months. It will be fun.”

Kimmel was not the only one to denounce the decision of CBS, especially since many questioned the moment of the announcement since Colbert recently criticized the company parent, Paramount Global, for having settled a prosecution filed by President Donald Trump that certain legal observers should have been rejected for the reasons for the first amendment.

Celebrities faded to an Instagram post shared by Late show And Colbert’s personal account to send their support to Colbert and make their own call to the network behind the decision.

“CBS canceled the program of Colbert only three days after Colbert called the parent company of CBS Paramount for its $ 16 million regulation with Trump – an agreement that resembles corruption,” the Massachusetts senator in a post. “America deserves whether its program has been canceled for political reasons. Look at and share its message.”

Although CBS labeled the pursuit of Trump “completely without merit” and asked a judge to reject him, the network finally conceded, a decision that many described in light of Paramount efforts to merge with Skydance Media, which would require the approval of the Trump administration.
