Anne Burrell was found ‘unconscious and unresponsive’ at scene of death


The authorities revealed new information on the death of Anne Burrell, the beloved star of the food network who died at her Brooklyn home on Tuesday morning at the age of 55.

Officers of the 76th district responded to “an unconscious and insensitive 55 -year -old woman” around 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, the New York police department confirmed to Weekly entertainment. Emergency medical services “replied and declared his deceased to the scene.”

The NYPD did not appoint Burrell in its report on this case, because the authorities still inform the family. The chef’s personal address corresponded to the location described in the report of the NYPD, people confirmed.

Burrell’s cause of death has not yet been published, as the office of the chief forensic scientist has not published an autopsy report.

A Food Network representative confirmed to EW that Burrell died on Tuesday at his home in New York.

“Anne was a remarkable person and a culinary talent – teaching, competitions and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,” the network said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with family, friends and fans of Anne during this period of enormous losses.”

Burrell was best known for playing on 27 seasons of America’s worst cooks From 2010 to 2024. She was also the host of the series Secrets of A Restaurant Chefwhich lasted nine seasons and appeared on many other food network emissions, in particular Iron Chef America,, The next iron chief,, The best thing I have ever eatenAnd Beat Bobby Flay.

The chef also wrote two cooking books: Cooking like a rock star And Have your kitchen: recipes to inspire and allow.

After studying at the Culinary Institute of America and Italian Culinary Institute for Foreignrs, Burrell worked as a sous-chef at Lidia Bastianich’s Felidia and as a chef in Savoy, both in Manhattan. She was also executive chief at Centro Vinoteca, also in Manhattan, and opened her own restaurant, Phil & Anne’s Good Time Lounge, in Brooklyn.

Only two weeks before his death, Burrell joined forces with Careright to launch culinary programs in the rehabilitation and nursing centers of the company across Florida.

Worst cooks broadcast its first season without Burrell earlier this year.
