Wizards of Waverly Place made Selena Gomez a star, but her fiancé Benny Blanco admitted that he had never watched the show.
On the last episode of Therapy with Jake Shane podcast,, Blanco said he had asked Gomez to look at his sitcom Disney Channel before his appearance in restart, Wizards beyond Waverly Place.
“I knew it was, like a kid, but I had never seen it,” he said about her fiancée.
The only familiarity of the music producer with the show was with his theme song, because Billie Eilish had used the song as inspiration for his song “Bad Guy”.
Initially hesitant, Gomez agreed to look at the original Wizards With Blanco, who said that she had shown him “some good scenes”.

“I understand,” he said.
Blanco also shared that he had never heard of Jonas Brothers until the group went out with “Sucker” in 2019, despite Gomez with Nick Jonas while they were both Disney Kids. Blanco assigned this to the fact that he was older than Disney Channel’s target demography when Gomez and the Jonas brothers were associated with the network.
Gomez returned to his role as malicious Alex Russo Wizards beyond Waverly Place Last year and is expected to appear in the second coming season.
