British and Irish Lions: Owen Farrell on bench as Henry Pollock starts vs AUNZ XV | Rugby Union News
Owen Farrell was included among the replacements with Henry Pollock restored to the starting XV for the British and Irish Lions game with an XV Australia and New Zealand Invitational XV in Adélaide on Saturday.
Farrell, who was drafted in the team by his father and chief coach Andy after the injury of Elliot Daly’s arm against the Queensland Reds, will start on the bench of the Adelaide oval.
The 33 -year -old man could make his 19th appearance of lions from the bench with Tadhg Beirne de Munster, team captain for the second time in Australia while Maro Itoje rests.
Beirne will line up alongside James Ryan de Leinster in the second row behind Pierre Schoeman, Luke Cowan-Dick and Will Stuart with Pollock, Jac Morgan and Ben Earl composing the rear row.
Ben White and End Smith will be bonded at half-dos with Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones in the midfield and Hugo Keenan, Mack Hansen and Duhan Van der Merwe combining in the three rear.
England attacker Pollock is back in the starting program after having withdrawn from the 21-10 Saturday victory against the Waratahs as a precaution with a tight calf.
