Bruce Springsteen stayed away from biopic set during ‘deeply personal’ scenes


He may be the boss, but Bruce Springsteen is also a considerate colleague.

In a new interview with RollerThe rock icon shared its reflections on the next biopic LIT ME DE NOLLYfeatured The bearIs Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen around 1982.

The musician says that even if the biopic – who explores the education of Springsteen to Freehold, NJ, and the recording of his 1982 album Nebraska – involves “some of the most painful days of my life”, that was not the reason why he chose to stay away sometimes.

“If there was an upcoming scene which was sometimes very deeply personal, I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I did not want to embarrass myself, and therefore I would stay at home,” said Springsteen. “If Scott Cooper, the director, wanted or needed me there for something, I would try to do it.” That said, Springsteen congratulated White for having been “very, very tolerant of me on the days when I appeared on the set”.

LIT ME DE NOLLYWho will be released in theaters on October 24, also features Jeremy Strong in the role of Jon Landau, a musical critic who became producer and manager of Springsteen; Paul Walter Hauser as Mike Batlan, who helped Springsteen install a recording configuration in low technology in his New Jersey room; Marc Maron like Chuck Plotkin, the producer who mastered the singer Nebraska recordings; and Stephen Graham (Adolescence) As Springsteen’s father, Douglas.

When asked if he would plan to play Nebraska Directly in a live show for the first time to help promote the release of the film, Springsteen did not say yes – but he did not say no either. “I doubt that I do it, but I could possibly go out and play this disc completely one day,” he replied. “I think it would be fun to do, and fans were kicking. It’s not out of the table.”
