“The Kreese at the start of season 6 was the most poisonous version of Kreese that we saw,” the co-creator of the series Jon Hurwitz told Ew in February. “All bets were taken this year with his hatred towards Johnny and Daniel. He was volatile, and this anger was boiled by bringing him the knife to the tournament – which led him to fall and his own student is killed …. He tries to know where to go from there.
Hannah-Kim played the formidable Sensei Kim Da-Eun on the series, which is in partnership with Kreese that she regrets when the student is killed.
“She is a strategist and she weighs all her options all the time,” said the actress to EW in an interview published in November 2024. “Kim and Kreese’s relationship is so complicated. She is grateful to him for this last friendship, where he really protected her and was a mentor figure for her”, ”
