Colin Keane to miss Field Of Gold ride in Sussex Stakes at Goodwood with 14-day whip ban | Racing News

The Jockey Colin Keane will miss the turn aboard the Golden Superstar field in the Sussex Stakes this month after being affected with a 14-day ban to break the rules of whip.

It was found that the newly preserved runner of Juddmonte had used his whip eight times during the victory on Windlord at Sandown last week, two above the authorized level in flat race.

The suspension, which is lined in length compared to the standard because it occurred in a class 1 competition, will start on July 22 and will end until August 4.

Juddmonte will now have to ask for a replacement for the next Gold of Gold race on July 30, with Oisin Murphy a possible candidate having led five winners for the owners this season.

Rossa Ryan has gone nine times in the famous green, white and pink colors this season, as is Kieran Shoemark, who was demoted from his role as a rider selected after the defeat of Gold of Gold, roughly in the 2000 Guinea in Newmarket.

Field of Gold has become one of the most exciting flat horses of recent years, buying its rivals in the Irish Guineas 2000 and the St James’s Palace Stakes in Royal Ascot.

In the same race in Sandown, Jamie Spencer would have used her whisk with her arm above the shoulder height twice and will be suspended for seven days from July 22 to 28.
