College Football Playoff will require teams to provide player availability reports beginning with 2025 season
The university football playoffs will begin to oblige teams to provide players in players for their games next season, following a similar initiative implemented by the Big Ten and SEC in recent seasons.
The executive director of the CFP, Rich Clark, announced the move on Wednesday during the group meetings in Asheville, in North Carolina, according to Brandon Marcello of CBS Sports. The CFP has not specified whether their model would closely resemble Big Ten approaches or the availability reports of dry players, which are generally used for injuries.
In 2023, the Big Ten announced That all teams must submit injury reports at least two hours before kick -off. Availability reports, which are published online, list athletes as “questionable” or “out”.
The dry implemented a similar but more complex measurement In 2024. The players were listed under one of the four statutes: “out”, “questionable”, “likely” or “available”. These statutes are submitted on Wednesday and updated every day before and including the day of the game. The final report must be submitted no later than 90 minutes before kick -off.
