County Championship: Dom Sibley hits triple ton as Surrey rack up county record 820-9 against Durham | Cricket News


Surrey reached his highest score in the history of County cricket against Durham on Monday, with a gigantic 820-9 declared helped by a triple century of Dom Sibley and tons of Dan Lawrence, Will Jacks and Sam Curran.

The highest total of Surrey in 180 years was 811 at the oval in 1899, but the hits of the house destroyed Durham’s attack in a championship of county in the first attack which lasted five sessions.

Sibley, the former opening match of England, struck 305 from 475 balls in one that included 29 four and two.

He was joined for major partnerships by other familiar faces of England, by putting 170 with Curran (108 out of 124 balls) for the third counter, 334 with Lawrence (178 out of 149) for the fourth and 133 with Jacks (119 out of 94) for the fifth before his dismissal.

Will Rhodes was the choice of quisors for visitors with 3-131, with George Drissell for 247 points from his 45 Overs.

Sibley is the top scorer in the county championship this year, with 975 points at an average of more than 75.

Surrey, who has won the title in the last three seasons, is currently second in division UN and undefeated this season, while Durham is sixth.
