Ellen DeGeneres supports Rosie O’Donnell after Donald Trump’s threat

Ellen Degeneres is next to her old friend Rosie O’Donnell in the middle of her growing quarrel with President Donald Trump.

The conflict between Trump and O’Donnell – which dates back to his mandate on The view – has reached new heights during the weekend, the president calling her “threat to humanity” on social truth, adding that he “seriously took into account” his American citizenship. (According to an analysis by Harvard, Trump has no constitutional power to do so.)

Degeneres is one of the many who joined the O’Donnell team and expressed their support. The former Talk-Show host went on Instagram on Sunday, sharing a screenshot of the Trump post alongside a fiery poem that O’Donnell wrote in response.

“Good for you @rosie,” wrote Degeneres.

O’Donnell, an actress born in New York, previously announced that she and her 12-year-old son Clay left the United States for Ireland before the inauguration of Donald Trump in 2025. In the poem shared by Degeneres, O’Donnell doubles this decision while slamming Trump for having threatened his citizenship.

“Hey Donald – You are shaken again? 18 years later and I still live without rent in your collapse brain. You call me a threat to humanity – but I am all that you fear: a noisy woman, a queer woman, a mother who tells the truth, an American who came out of the country B4 u it it ablaze. You build walls,” she wrote. “I build a life for my autistic child in a country where decency still exists. You want loyalty – I teach my children to question power. You sell fear on golf courses – I make art on the survival of trauma. You lie, you fly, you degrade – I nourish, I create, I persist.”

She continued: “You are all that is wrong with America – and I’m all you hate about what is still good.

The poem was accompanied by a photo of Trump standing side by side with Jeffrey Epstein, the disgrace financier and the condemned sex offender whose death in prison of 2019 was deemed to suicide.

O’Donnell and Trump disputed publicly for almost two decades, starting when the first See Cohost criticized him during his brief visit to the Talk show ABC in 2007. He criticized it in turn over the years, the pair regularly pulling vicious messages from social networks, but acrimony has accumulated while Trump got up in the political sphere. In 2015, he made a very publicized blow during a republican primary debate in which he compared it to an animal.

Discussing the news that Degeneres and his wife, Portia de Rossi, also left the United States in the heels of Trump’s re-election, said O’Donnell US Weekly In November, she was surprised by their motivation.

“I have never really known Ellen to say anything about politics in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump,” said O’Donnell. “As, it shocked me, in fact. I was a politician all my life, no better or worse, it’s just a different way of being in the world. I was very clear about the reason why I started, and I don’t think it surprised anyone.”

O’Donnell shared that the duo had not yet reconnected at the time, adding: “We are not really in the worlds of each other, and it was a little embarrassing but you know what? I wish him the best. I wish her to have peace and love in her life and that she is fine.”
