Mark Petchey admits that Emma Raducanu needs a permanent coach but says that it will not be him.

“We are very aware that she needs a second coach to get on board and perhaps only one coach, not me too.
“All I am trying to do is facilitate the best possible environment for Emma to produce the tennis that she can.
“Whether it involves or does not involve me is not a question that worries me. We are just trying to find something that will be stable or good for it.”

“It was an excellent tennis match,” added Petchey, 54. “It was quite positive from a point of view that you can think about the fact that the match was great and get comments from people talking.
“I asked for opinions of people I respect in the industry, coaches, to ask them what they thought of the match and what it could have done better and that gives you a chance to formulate a plan in the future for this week and in the future.”
