England ‘concerns’ over Nat Sciver-Brunt captaincy and Alice Capsey after T20 series loss to India, says Charles Dagnall | Cricket News

“There are still concerns” and “more questions that answer” on England after their 3-2 T20i defeat against India, according to Charles Dagnall de Sky Sports.

England has won two of the last three games under the stand-in skipper Tammy Beaumont, including a last-ball thriller in the final final rubber on Saturday in Edgbaston, after an injury to the groin at Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Pressed for his “winners” and “losers” of the defeat of the England series, Dagnall named Sciver -Bunt as one of the last – with the Alice Capsey Hors -Form – with Beaumont impressing in his absence, while he greeted the successes of Seamer Lauren Bell and Lauren File.

“I think that when you watch the series overall, I think more questions are raised than answers,” said Dagnall. “I think there are still concerns.

“I actually think, in a bizarre way, Nat Sciver-Brunt was a loser in all of this. I look at his captain on the ground, I think it looks panicked. I think it looks a little confused.

“I was worried about it when she sometimes took over from Heather Knight, like the [2022] Commonwealth Games or the second part of the match against the Antilles [2024 T20 World Cup]. I don’t know if tactically she is as wise as Tammy Beaumont – she was good [as stand-in captain]I think she is one of the winners.

“She was one of those players who was outside the T20 team, while now I think she’s in the conversation to be in the departure XI in the future.

“Sciver-Brunt needs time, granted, but again, she also played a lot of cricket.

“I also think that Alice Capsey at the moment is in a little non-man. What is his best position? And his alignment was a question mark for her. The food of England is generally a great area of concern.”

Dagnall: Find and Dean to have play

By praising Bell and Filler – which were both rested for the victory in five counters of England in the last T20i before the ODI series of three games – Dagnall exhorted England to play Fast Bowler spinning in the future, with a 50 -year -old World Cup in India and Sri Lanka later this year, and a T20 World Cup.

“I think there have been very good things, especially the bowling of Lauren Bell and Lauren File – they were superb,” said Dagnall

Charlie Dean and Lauren File must be the first teams of England, according to Charles Dagnall de Sky Sports

“File has to play, for me. I think she must play all formats, all competitions for England; she has a difference with her additional pace.

“Charlie Dean is another. She must be one of the names of the team leaf. She has a big cricket us, she is a very intelligent bowling player and her three disciplines are excellent.”

“ England will hold out on errors ”

England Seamer Kate Cross, which is part of the Sky Sports broadcast team for the fifth T20i:

“England had a difficult series, but we talked a lot about the moments of pressure and how we face them – I had the impression that we should not have let it go to the last ball [at Edgbaston] – And we have overcome this and won.

England sealed a dramatic victory over India over the last ball at Edgbaston in the fifth female T20i.

“The more you overcome these moments and go out on the right side, you are better in them and you will think more clearly.

“From a point of view of England, we did not succeed as well as we could have done in the series, even the games we have won.

“I don’t think they have underestimated India, but I don’t think the performance levels of the England team were high enough to compete with India at best.

“”[Head coach] Charlotte Edwards arrived three months ago for four months ago, so it’s still early.

After the defeat of the T20 series of her team against India, Charlotte Edwards says that England “was not intelligent” and admits that her team was better ”.

“I saw the quote from Tammy Beaumont about this team is in transition. I don’t think the team is because the group of players is generally the same, but it is in transition in terms of Lottie [Edwards].

“It was obviously disappointing. The team will maintain their hand and knows that she made mistakes, and made the same mistakes in a few back to back games, but they want to be tried in a year when he arrives at a T20 World Cup at home next year – that England will be under pressure to win.”
