England vs India: Ben Stokes’ side’s ‘rusty’ bowling attack exposed as India pile on runs at Headingley | Cricket News

Michael Atherton, from Sky Sports, said that the Bowling attack from England looked “rusty” when they worked on the day of the series of tests against India in Headingley.

After being inserted by Ben Stokes (2-43) during the draw, India stacked 359-3 by stumps on the first day of the first test against an attack in England subcuits.

Chris Woakes (0-89) missed the rounding of the sleeves over Zimbabwe last month while he recovered from an ankle injury, Brydon Carse (1-70)-having had his own toe problems since the winter tour of New Zealand-play in his first home test, while Josh Tongue (0-75) times.

“It was difficult today for the quisors of England, if the truth is said,” said Atherton. “They looked a bit rusty to me.

“This is the kind of land and height where you want to be very special on your lengths.

“There was only this short burst just before lunch when England took two quick counters but, apart from that, everything was in favor of the bat today.”

The former former captain of England Nasser Hussain also criticized the couts of England as they struggled on the first day.

India was endowed with five penalty points after the ball hit a group of helmets, leaving Joe Root distraught!

“No length and line control, especially,” said Hussain. “He did a little before lunch, he was swinging a little, but I don’t think they have nailed this top [line] That skippers, coaches and quisors would like themselves.

“After lunch, it became flatter. And with this outdoor field, if you lack a little control with the ball, you can quickly lose it in the field, the execution rate can move you away from you.

“Stokes was certainly not hoped for that, and the reason why India has had, it is because England was slightly out of their line and their length, and they paid the price.”

Carse claimed a counter for its 16 plows of work, while Stokes participated in the other two of its 13, because at least the form and physical form of the captain of England can be considered positive of the procedure in Leeds.

Michael Atherton sits with James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar as they discuss the rivalry between England and India before the first test.

“Stokes was the best bowler in England today,” added Atherton.

“We asked him before the match to explain why he did not play in the Lions of England match [against India A]Having played only one first class match this year – the Zimbabwe test – and he said that he was out of this test match by feeling good and did not feel the need to obtain an additional match.

“He used the weeks on each side of this test to try to come back to the action of bowling he had when he felt that he was the best of the Bowling to his best, which was around 2020.

“He looked in a gourmet rhythm in this Zimbabwe game when he made a bowl, which was not much. The short spells he played, however, he looked really good, I thought.”

The male test teams and India of England will honor Sir James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar with a new trophy dedicated to their remarkable achievements in the test cricket.

Atherton also questioned Stokes’ decision to insert India into dry terrain and said it was an “interesting” call, because the statistics suggested the opposite, especially after the hosts only managed three hairy leathers.

“It was a really interesting call [at the toss]. All the figures say Bowl – the last six victories here came from the team’s bowling in first, “added Atherton.

“But common sense cricket says it’s a hot day, and it’s 30 degrees in the coming days.

“I think that at the end of Ben went with the statistics, which the field did here in Headingley this year – it did not deteriorate in the county games – and also the force of England: that does not care about a prosecution.”
