Sophie Ecclestone and Maia Bouchier were recalled to the one -day international team in England for their next three -game series against India.

Ecclestone returns to the 50 -year team instead of his compatriot Sarah Glenn, having not been considered ready to play against the Antilles earlier in summer when she returned to a knee injury.

Bouchier had not presented since a disappointing projection during the ashes in winter, but the Hampshire striker could now return to international action.

Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is included because England has reiterated the confidence it will be ready to play a “full game” of the series despite the end of the T20 series in his team with India because of a groin injury.

Lauren Fille, who, like Ecclestone, plays in the T20 series, also returns to the configuration of the 50 versions that were left against the Antilles due to a knee injury.

The series begins in Southampton on July 16, with matches after July 19 in Lord’s and July 22 in Durham.

England head coach Charlotte Edwards said: “The team has largely remained the same since the ODI series against the Antilles, but SOP [Ecclestone] Returns to the side, which means that Sarah Glenn is missing this time.

“We have also added to Maia Bouchier to strengthen our range of strikers and continue to offer a competition for places.

England has two more games in their T20 series with India remaining, currently dragging 2-1 before the penultimate match of the five game competition in Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Edwards, who was appointed in April after disappointing ashes from England, added: “India really pushed us during the IT20 vitality. We knew they would do it and we learned a lot on the team in the three games so far.

“There have been good times, but we are a team in transition and we have to continue working hard to do what we are trying to do more regularly, and for longer. This will be asked again in the ODIs.”
