Evan Rachel Wood will not return to Coven for the next Practical magic Continued – But not for lack of trying.
The actress recently declared on social networks that she had been opened to resume her role as The Witchy 1998 Cult Classic, in which she played Sandra Bullock’s daughter, but said that she was not called to do so.
“I am asked a lot on this subject, so I do not keep it now,” Wood, 37, wrote in an article on Instagram Story on Friday. “I was not asked to come back and be part of the #practicalmagic suite.

The original Practical magic Film, based on Alice Hoffman’s novel in 1995 of the same name, features Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sally and Gillian Owens sisters, who descend from a line of witches and gets cluster with a family curse while they are looking for love. Wood played the eldest daughter of Sally, Kylie, who looks like her disturbing aunt, and Alexandra Artrip played the younger girl Antonia.

Bullock and Kidman will be back for the future, which is now in production. Stégard Channing and Dianne Wiest are also back, who played Jet and Franny Owens, the aunts who raised Sally and Gillian and taught them magic.
The details of the intrigue have not yet been revealed, but the producer of return Denise Di Novi told EW last year that the sequel would be inspired by Hoffman’s 2021 Practical magic following, The Magic Book.
“We are going to be very faithful,” said Di Novi. “We are aware of the importance of these characters and this film for so many people. We are not going to reinvent the wheel. We are going to draw books by Alice Hoffman, as the first film did, and we will be faithful to the chronology of the number of years later.”

The new faces in the cast include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Mariduña and Solly McLeod. King would play one of Sally’s girls, although no other detail has emerged.
THE Practical magic The rest should arrive in theaters on September 18, 2026, just in time for the frightening season.
