England Cara Gainer and Gabriela Ruffels d’Australia will take a narrow advance in the last round of the Evian championship, the fourth female major of the year, after the two arrived at 11 under the tournament in Evian-le-Bains in France on Saturday.
Gainer, in his second departure in the major, shot one by 64 of seven sous which included six birdies, with the only imperfection on his card an abandoned shot in the sixth. She responded in Eagling The Par-Five Seventh.
Ruffels recovered from a bogey in the first with a 66 under the age of five and pocketed four birdies in five holes between the 11th and the 15th.
The 25 -year -old Australian, who won three titles during the Epson tour in 2023, is looking for her first top ten on the LPGA tour this season.
Only four shots cover the 18 best players on the left after the Friday cup and four of them are only a blow behind the main pair.
“I made an excellent backup by the first, which really settled my nerves,” said Gainer. “Then I made a big putt on the second hole for Birdie.
“I think that one under two people settled me and I went up a nice putt out of four.”
The compatriots of Ruffels, Minjee Lee, the 2021 champion, finished a third round of 66 and Grace Kim pulled a 70.

The number two Thai World World Jeeno Thitikul had a tour of four sous 67 and the leader of the day after South Korea, has drawn a level of 71, but is still very in the running.
