Grand Prix de Paris: Leffard denies Trinity College in Longchamp thriller | Racing News

Jean-Claude Rouget has returned to the grounds of the ONE group winner while Leffard got up at Trinity College at the end of the Paris Grand Prix Cygagams in Paislongchamp.

The Dual Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Winning Trainer – which has had health battles and saw its very small channel in the past year – was clearly emotional after Cristian Demuro put the head of Leffard online so that the Trinity College of Aidan O’Brien.

Ryan Moore and Trinity College had frankly followed a good CEN before passing and showing an intelligent footpack, which seemed to seal things. It did not count for theffard, however, and he too took over in a good style when he asked him to let the pair fight.

After the shortest expectations, Leffard – which has an arc entrance – was announced the winner, putting an effort lower than the game in the Jockey Club price – in which Trinity College had been fourth before winning Royal Ascot – behind him and fully justifying the decision to complete the centerpiece of Paris.

Routet told Sky Sports Racing: “It was fantastic when I saw the horse coming. I was very confident that there was no big difference between the two (Leffard and Trinity College).

“I knew it was very good, but I had to find new self-confidence (after the price of the Jockey-Club). He was going so well this week and the field was not huge, I decided to complete it. When I saw six runners, it was possible to be third and we did better.

“I think yes (it’s an arc horse), because when I bought it, I was sure I bought a good horse.

It is a big fairy tale, life continues and we do other things.

Qilin Queen Floors Sunly for the group two honors

Qilin Queen kept the favorite Sunly to continue a great season for coach Ed Walker with the group two glory in the Cygames Prix de Malleret.

Avened for the last time disappointing in the OAKS in Epsom, the Pinatubo’s filly took it back early in the case of kilometer and a half, after having briefly challenged it with Miss of Change, and proved to be a lot of play under a nice walk by Kieran Shoemark.

Invainu in three previous careers, the Sunly, belonging to Francis-Henri Graffard, took a little time to find superior equipment for Colin Keane and while she tried hard, Qilin Queen refused to yield.

Walker told Sky Sports Racing: “She was very difficult in Newbury when she won the Oaks trial, then we went to the Oaks, which was the plan, but when we traveled the track, it was sweeter than we hoped. But when you are there and everything is ready to leave, it’s quite difficult to scratch.

“We did not know that she would not like the soft floor, even if we were very suspicious, she would not like it and it turned out that she was spinning the wheel by going down the hill. She was beaten in the long term and Tom (Marquand) did an excellent job by taking care of her.

“It was very difficult today on a galloping track on a quick ground. Like everyone that we probably thought Sunly was unbeatable, we thought the only way to beat her was to prick him and I think Kieran nailed her.

“When they challenged, I knew that the race was not over because it is hard.”

He added on future plans: “The terrain will be a factor, but it is in everything and we will go where the ground is right, 10 or 12 furlongs. She is a winner of group two, so it must be a group. It is very exciting.”

Graffard was more lucky earlier on the map, while Sibayan rewards Fravourites in the Maurice de Nieuil Prize, but not without fear in the process.

Going to a mile and three -quarters for the first time, after being second in the groups two and three before this season at a mile and a half, the gelding belonging to Aga Khan gurjons went back under Mickael Barzalona and there was a moment to the two -stroke marker who saw him disturbing behind the runners.

The gap finally came, however, and it was intelligent enough to take it, internal and adult double with something in hand.

Barzalona admitted: “I thought the gap would come earlier than he did, but it is a nice horse. It was his first time during the trip and against older horses, so it’s good for the future.”
