Sunderland explores an ambitious decision to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Granite Xhaka.

Xhaka is three years old on his Leverkusen agreement but could be allowed to leave this window.

Sunderland is interested in signing the 32 -year -old Bundesliga winner to direct his return to the Premier League.

Sunderland faces the competition of Saudi Arabia for the signing of the former midfielder.

Xhaka is extremely experienced with 137 caps for Switzerland and corresponds to the profile of the young Regis Le Bris team.
