J.K. Rowling worked closely with writers on HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ series
The besieged author JK Rowling gave the first episodes of the next Harry Potter Series She Sceal of Approution, also sharing that she “worked closely” with writers in the series.
“I read the first two episodes of the next HBO Harry Potter series and they have so much, so good!” Rowling shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. She also clarified that she had not written for the series but “worked closely with extremely talented writers”.
Rowling is also an executive producer of the next series, which was presented as a “faithful adaptation” of successful novels and the success of successful films.

The author has been criticized in recent years for his transphobic rhetoric and his hostile opinions on gender identity, alienating the generations of fans and the condemnation of the stars of the film Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
HBO widely rejected controversy, declaring that they intended to stay in business with Rowling. Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max, assured that the series would not be “secretly infused” with anti-trans rhetoric and that Rowling was ultimately “right” to his own opinions.

“You know, I have already said it, but the decision to be in business with JK Rowling is not new to us. We have been in business for 25 years,” said Bloys during an appearance on The city Podcast last month. “I think it is quite clear that it is her personal political opinions. She is entitled to them. And if you want to debate, you can go on Twitter.”
The new arrivals Dominic McLaughlin (as a boy who lived, Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger) and Alastair Stout (Ronald Weasley) were exploited in the series as a new golden trio. Other notable additions include John Lithgow like Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu like Severus Snape, Nick Frost like Rubeus Hagrid and Lox Pratt like Draco Malfoy.
Francesca Gardiner (Succession, killing Eve, its dark materials) will serve as a showrunner, writer and executive producer alongside Fellow Succession The former Mark Mylod, who will direct several episodes. The series aims for a start in 2026 on HBO.
