The English amateur Lottie Woad carded a superb 67 of less than 67 to hold an advance of three strokes half of the Open Irish of 2025 KPMG, with Charley Hull equally in the third third blow.
Chiara Tamburlini in Switzerland is in second place solo out of eight sous after a 71 in the second round on the O’Meara course in Carton House, while Hull is joined by Kirsten Rudgeley in Australia, Amelia Garvey of Sweden on the third rear.
The Woad, 21, starting its second round on the 10th tee, made its first birdie on the 13th hole before obtaining other blows on the 15th, 17th, first, fifth and seventh.
World amateur No. 1 carded his only Bogey from the day to eighth, but immediately bounced with a new to lead with a score of 11 sous.
“The wind was strong enough on the last holes around seven, eight, new. It was a fairly difficult section, and I was trying to return as quickly as possible,” Woad said after his second round.
“I am satisfied with the first two days. I play quite solidly, and everything feels pretty good. It’s certainly a little different in a professional tournament, but I had a lot of experience.
“I played in many majors, so I know how to face it and I try to stay in the running and I will see where it puts me.”
Hannah Screen, added an additional interest in English on the upper page in the ranking, which is six sous the seventh with Alexandra Swayne from the American Virgin Islands.
Screen had started the second round in equality for the third alongside Woad and Mimi Rhodes, who returned a disappointing tour of 75 to fall behind his compatriots.
