Lily Allen ‘can’t remember’ how many abortions she’s had

Lily Allen speaks frankly about abortion.

During a recent episode of her I miss you? Podcast, the 40 -year -old “smile” singer, said she had several abortions before finding a method of contraception that works for her. “I have a IUD now, I think I’m on my third, maybe fourth? And I just remember, before it is a complete sinister zone,” said Allen. “I would get pregnant all the time.”

A IUD, or intrauterine device, is a type of contraception that releases copper or hormones in the uterus to prevent pregnancy, according to the Mayo clinic.

Allen continued: “Aborts, I had a few. But then again, I don’t remember exactly how much…. Maybe I think I want to say five. Four or five? ”

The Allen cohost, Miquita Oliver, noted that she had also had five abortions over the years. “Lily, I’m so happy that I can say that and you can say it and no one came to shoot us. No judgment,” she said. “We had roughly the same amount of abortions.”

The Grammy winner also told one of her experiences.

“I remember once pregnant and that the man paid my abortion,” she said, “and I think it was so romantic.”

His point of view, however, has changed since. “I don’t think it’s generous or romantic,” said Allen, noting that the man had never sent him a text afterwards. “Fair [to be honest]I was a crazy dog F — ING. I’m still. “”

Allen spoke of receiving reproductive health care – and the sense of shame surrounding the subject – on his podcast in the past.

“I even felt really embarrassed to say that I had more than one abortion,” she admitted in a June episode. “I said to myself:” Why should I be ashamed? ” I had a few.

She explained: “Throughout my years and 30, having a baby was not really very important to me and I would have hated if I did not have the possibility and the freedom to do what I had to do for my own life.”

Allen is a mother of two girls, Ethel and Marnie, whom she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. The couple got married from 2011 to 2018. They also had a son, George, who died in 2010.
