Lottie Woad: English amateur star turns professional and accepts membership on LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour | Golf News
The amateur star of England Lottie Woad chose to become a professional in front of the Open of Women AIG and accepted membership of the LPGA tour.
Woad has become the first amateur winner of the European Tour Ladies since 2022 and won his first victory during a professional event with a dominant six -stroke victory at the KPMG Open Irish Women.
The 21 -year -old threatened to become the first major amateur champion in 58 years a week later at the Amundi Evian championship, finishing the third equally in France after a superb round 64.

This performance saw him reach the 20 points necessary to be eligible for LPGA membership through the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP), Woad now taking this option and becoming professional.
“I am very happy to announce that I decided to become a professional,” said Woad on X. “I am delighted to have obtained an LPGA card through the jump.
“I am also happy to accept membership of the Tour in Europe for 2026. Thank you to all those who helped me reach this position.”
Woad’s Rise to Professional Ranks
Woad won 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and moved to the world’s world ranking later that summer, before securing the Smyth Salver to be the main amateur of the Aig Women’s Open.

She followed her ending equally in St Andrews by helping Great Britain and Ireland to Victory the United States in the Curtis Cup, with Woad Impressant for Florida State and winning several university events in America.
Woad finished as a prominent amateur at US Women’s Open and won the Vagliano trophy with Great Britain and Ireland this summer, while his performance in the Evian championship was his last as an amateur.
Golf performance director in England, Nigel Edwards, said: “Lottie Woad has been a truly special member of golf teams in England over the years, going from regional teams to national girls and, more recently, the national women’s team.

What is the next step?
The next event on the LPGA tour and the European ladies’ tour calendar is the Handa Scottish Open ISPS, which takes place at Dundonald Links from July 24 to 27 and live on Sky Sports.
The main female season then ends at the Aig Women’s Open from July 31 to August 3, with Lydia Ko as reigning champion in Royal Portthcawl. Distribute the majors and more without contract.
