Man City fined over £1m after breaking Premier League rule nine times during 2024/25 season | Football News
Manchester City was sentenced to a fine of more than 1 million pounds sterling by the Premier League on kicks or delayed restarts linked to nine of their games last season.
The League announced Thursday that it had concluded a sanction agreement with the club for violating the league rules concerning the kick -off and the restart between October and February.
The longest delay was two minutes and 24 seconds before resumption of the Manchester derby in Old Trafford last December.
The Premier League said City had accepted and apologized for violations of the L.33 rule, fines totaling 1.08 million pounds sterling.
The League said that the city had 14 days to pay the execution of the sanction agreement.
A press release from the League said: “The rules relating to shipping and restarts help to guarantee that the organization of the competition is set for the highest possible professional standard and provides certainty to fans and participating clubs.
“It also guarantees that the broadcast of each Premier League match should plan.”
City was sentenced to a fine of more than 2 million pounds sterling last summer for 22 violations of the kick -off and restart rules during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
The problem is not connected to the 115 charges that the City faces for alleged violations of the financial regulation of the competition, which the club denies unequivocally.
