Mary Lou Retton police bodycam footage and mugshot released
Former Olympian Mary Lou Reton is struggling to find her balance and, sometimes, breathe images of bodywork released Wednesday from his arrest in May suspected of driving under influence.
The gymnast and old Dancing The candidate was in her hometown of Fairmont in the county of Marion, W.VA., when the police arrested her after receiving a report from someone in a Porsche driving irregularly, according to the Associated Press.
In the video, Reton’s arrest took place without incident, even if she was upset to know that she was going to prison.
“I’m really sorry to go through that too,” said the officer, who should know who she was. “If I could avoid this, I would.”
Reton became a national hero at the 1984 summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where she won five gold medals, two silver and two bronze for her superb gymnastics. She scored a perfect 10 on the jump, and she won more medals than any other Olympian that year. More importantly, she became the first American woman to win a gold medal in a category of individual gymnastics.

While everyone in her hometown must recognize her, Reton has given clues to his identity in the video.
When asked to lift a leg in front of her, Reton suggested that she can do it higher than the six inch required. She also raised wear on her body when asked if there was a reason why she couldn’t keep her hands behind her back after being handcuffed.

Reton noted that she had undergone eight surgeries on her shoulders.
The athlete was strong enough to compete Dancing In 2018, where she was twinned with Sasha Farber and ranked ninth.
But Reton, who is 57, was diagnosed with a rare form of pneumonia in October 2023. She spent more than a week at USI and, according to her daughter, “was fighting for her life”.

After his arrest, Reton pleaded guilty and paid a fine of $ 100 for his actions, by the AP.
“What happened was completely unacceptable. I have no excuse,” said Reton in a statement given to the point of sale. “To my family, my friends and my fans: I dropped you, and for that, I am deeply sorry. I am determined to learn and grow from this experience, and I agree to make positive changes in my life. I really appreciate your concern, your encouragement and your continuous support.”
