Oleksandr Usyk takes magnificent KO victory over Daniel Dubois to confirm his place in boxing history | Boxing News

Oleksandr Usyk confirmed its place in the boxing pantheon with a superb direct elimination victory against Daniel Dubois at the Wembley stadium in London.

The Ukrainian is now an undeniable undeniable world unbeaten and not disputed.

Usyk rocked his rival champion in the fifth round and dropped the Briton on his knees with a right hook at the end of a fierce exchange.

Dubois got up from the first Knockdown. But Usyk found a ruthless beauty finish, aligning a left hook which overthrew the greatest man on his back.

The Londonian was amazed. He was apathetic on the web, supported on a elbow but unable to beat the count.

The fight agitated, USYK crumpled on its knees, overwhelmed with emotion.

He marked a historic feat for the great Ukrainian.

Undisputed First in Cruiserweight, Usyk, Olympic gold medalist in London 2012, became the first undeniable heavyweight champion in a quarter of a century, and the first of the four era of the belt when he beat Tyson Fury last year.

The 38 -year -old has never lost the IBF championship in the ring, but could not make a compulsory defense of this title when he entered an immediate revenge match with Fury.

It saw Usyk leave the IBF belt before its second victory over Fury and Dubois, previously the temporary titlist, raised Full Champion.

DUBOIS reaches USYK with his jab

The Londoner had lost his first fight against the Usyk in 2023, but would later insist that a belt stroke should not have been governed low. Usyk had visited the canvas after this Dubois strike, using its time allocated to recover from the offense. Uysk got up and posed Dubois to the ninth round of this first fight where he was counted.

Dubois and his team were however categorical after he had injured Usyk legitimately and could do so again. The 27 -year -old also gained more confidence from his latest fight, when he brutally eliminated Anthony Joshua in just five laps last year, also at the Wembley stadium.

It was a performance that announced that Dubois as a global threat and potentially the most dangerous puncher in sport. He entered this revenge match at the top of his powers and with a new feeling of self -confidence.

Dubois started positively in the first round, swinging on the front foot and holding the center of the ring. But Usyk was masterfully feigned with his Southpaw jab, raising the advance, dried it and he started to connect.

In the last seconds of the first round, Usyk opened with a hooks splint.

Dubois held his advance on the left and to cowardly, trying to bring it while Usyk pointed him with punches.

The Briton launched a right on his opponent, but Usyk immediately planted a solid setback on his chin, landing with force.

In the third round, Dubois struck with a right hand at the chin hunt. But Usyk could still counter expertly with vicious lefts.

Dubois maintained the pressure on Usyk, the flying duties flying in the guard of Usyk, although a shot was also spread over the Beltline. The Ukrainian hit the head, to install a left cross to the body. A neat left hook also whipped the Londonian guard.

In the fifth round, Usyk triggered the fall of Dubois. He intervened with a one-two combination. Dubois tried to recover. But Usyk had seen the vulnerabilities and had not hesitated to apply the perfect final frills.

They pumped their punches on each other, but the Usyk were the precise plans, shaking Dubois, dropping it twice and leaving no questions about their rivalry, and no dispute about his own grandeur.

“38 is a young guy, remember. 38 is only the start,” said Usyk in Triumph. “It is for people, it is for the people of our world.

“It’s enough. Then? I don’t know. I want to rest.

“I want to go home with my wife, my family.”

‘I gave everything I had’

“I must congratulate him, I gave everything I had,” said Dubois afterwards. “There, we could have refined, but I will be back.

“I was in a fight, I was trying to choose it in circles, but that’s what it is, I will be back.”
