OneRepublic’s Tim Myers is running for California lieutenant governor
It is not too late for him to enter politics.
Tim Myers, founding member and bass guitarist for the group “Expug” OnePublic, announced that he campaigned for the office of Lieutenant-Governor in California.
In a position shared on Wednesday, he joined the supporters of his emerging campaign, noting the media coverage that his candidacy had already received.
“The people of California express themselves – and say what we all know: it is time to change. The status quo in our policy does not work,” wrote Myers, who presents himself as a Democrat. “Let’s write a new song for California – together!”
Third -generation Californian, Myers said that he hoped to bring a “fresh and strong voice to the Lieutenant’s Lieutenant office to fight the Trump administration, take the fake system with common sense solutions and ensure that each Californian has the opportunity to hunt their dreams, can afford to earn a living here and feels safe.”
The candidate was part of the Grammys group from 2002 to 2007. He continued to found Palladium Records two years later. In addition to getting out of the music itself, Myers wrote and produces songs for artists such as Kesha, Hailee Steinfeld and Michelle Branch.
Myers announced in April that he would appear at the Congress against the American Republican Republican Ken Calvert, but abandoned this race to appear at Lieutenant Governor.
In his new campaign, Myers said he was planning to oppose President Donald Trump. He wrote in a previous statement that he had “witnessed deeply disturbing things” since he started his initial race.

“California is attacked,” he said. “Donald Trump and his allies deliberately target our condition: cutting Medicaid and kicking millions of adults from California and children out of health care, threatening the financing of our colleges and public schools, and sending ice to intimidate peaceful communities.”
The primary for elections is scheduled for June, the final race scheduled for November.
