Pixar reveals first look at new ‘Toy Story 5’ villain

Toy story 5 is a few years old – and Pixar gives a first overview of the conceptual art of its last sequel.

Pixar’s creative director, Pete Doctor, appeared at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France on Friday to tease the new adventures of Buzz and Woody, as well as several other upcoming animation projects.

Although this marks his first effort as director in the franchise, Stanton was one of the many scriptwriters credited to the previous four Toy movies. The film will be released on June 19, 2026.

Hanks and Tim Allen come back to Woody and Buzz voice respectively. In addition, Conan O’Brien was recently interpreted as a new character named Smarty Pants Toy story 4.

Elsewhere during the Annecy presentation of the studio, Pixar announced a new original film, Gattowhich should be released in the summer of 2027. Located in Venice, the film follows a black cat named Nero who became friends with a street musician and fights to disentangle the feline crowd.
