PSG 4 – 0 Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain produced a superb 4-0 threshing of Real Madrid to set up a final of the Club World Cup against Chelsea.

Only one month after beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the Champions League final, the Luis Enrique team delivered another declaration performance which gives them the opportunity to cap an incredible season with an world title at the Metlife Stadium in New York on Sunday.

There was never any doubt that they claimed their place in the final after a rampant spell of 18 minutes in the first half which started when a heavy touch of Raul Asencio inside the Real Madrid box allowed Ousmane Dembele to set up the opening of the sixth minute of Fabian Ruiz.

Three minutes later, an unrecognized partner of Asencio central partner Antonio Rudiger, allowed Dembele to run to goal and coldly beaten Thibaut Courtois to double the advance of Paris Saint-Germain.

Enrique supports Dembele for Ballon d’Or

Paris Saint-Germain Boss Luis Enrique praised his team’s performance and praised Ousmane Dembele While reinforcing his hopes as a golden ball with a 35th goal of the season during his first departure from the club World Cup after his return from a thigh injury.

“This is the first match of this club World Cup that we can use Ousmane as a normal player because he was injured with the national team and we tried to take care of him. I think he is the best player of this season.

“He deserves to win everything because he has given everything to the team and the team will make trophies, which is the most important thing for a club.”

From the final of Sunday against Chelsea, Enrique added: “We will try to win it. One more step against a good team like Chelsea. They have done all the competition and now it’s time for us to prepare for this, try to recover.

“Almost there, we want to make the story of our club, then these are our vacation.”

Fabian: a perfect performance

Paris midfielder Saint-Germain Fabian Ruiz said Dazn: “It was an incredible game, a perfect performance, especially given the heat, the temperature.

“It was a brilliant performance against a really high level team and we are so happy that we lived.

“I am happy for the goals, but above all I am just happy with victory. Now we just need to celebrate – we ended up the final.

“It will be difficult, we know it’s a good team, but I hope we can win it and finish the season in the best possible way.”

Alonso: We have to learn today

Real Madrid BOSS Xabi Alonso urged his players to take lessons from the heavy defeat and pay tribute to the start Luka Modric.

“After only three weeks here, I think we can take positive points from this period. Not from today but we take lessons today.

“I think we were not the last to face such a good team. I think that, since February, they have been in a higher moment and today we have faced one of the best world teams.

“Let’s see what’s going on in the final, but they have shown a very good level. We want to be there, but it would certainly take time.”

On Modric, he added: “It is a bitter end for a last match but apart from that he was a legend of the club, a legend of football.

“I have been a teammate, now his trainer, but he is a great guy, so he will be recalled by everyone at Real Madrid.”

Paris Saint-Germain will take Chélat During the final of the World Cup on Sunday club at Metlife Stadium, with a kick -off at 8 p.m.
