The spectators were treated for injuries after a loose panel fell from the first level of the OWL Arena in the match of Alexander Zverev with Match with Marcos Giron in Halle on Wednesday.
With the favorite at home Zverev leading Giron 5-2 and 15-30 during his round of 32, the game was interrupted when a strong blow was heard in the arena followed by noise agitation.
The images have shown that an advertising table fell above the first level of the stand on spectators seated below.
Jonathan Overend, commenting for Sky Sportssaid: “There is a disturbance in the crowd. A little from the board fell there. You can see that it has come down to the seats.
“It could have been extremely nasty and if someone was touched by the fall of this board … it looks like this row of seats behind [the gentleman] With glasses is unoccupied and fortunately, because it looks like the row in which the board fell. “”
He added: You don’t expect to sit in a stadium watching a tennis match and something like it is right next to you.
“There is a couple who receives attention. It seems that the board of directors fell into the row behind them.
“There are medical staff on site and I am sure they will at least undergo precautionary tests behind the scenes. You don’t expect it to happen, never!”
ATP was approached for comments.
