‘Tiger King’ star Doc Antle sentenced to prison, must forfeit 3 chimps


Another King of tiger Star was sentenced to a time behind bars.

Bhagavan Mahamayavi “Doc” Antle, born Kevin Antle, who was presented in the season one of the Virals Netflix docuseries, was sentenced to a 12 -month prison sentence on Tuesday. He was already found guilty in 2023 for four fauna traffic counts

The Ministry of Justice declared in an official statement that Antlele had pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to violate the Lacey law, a federal conservation law which prohibits the purchase, sale and transport of fauna acquired by illegal means. Chimpanzees, cheetahs, lions and tigers were among animals in illegal trafficking.

Antle also pleaded guilty of having plotted to whiten more than $ 500,000 in what he thought was a plan to illegally pass migrants from Mexico through the border in the United States. In addition to his prison sentence, Antle was ordered to pay a fine of $ 55,000 as well as $ 197,000 in return for the government, serve three years of supervised release and give up three chimpanzees which were sold to him illegally.

Antle was not the only targeted individual in this recent investigation. Two co-accused were appointed in the case, and the two were convicted of their documents in the violation of the Lacey Act or the money laundering conspiracy.

An individual named Andrew Sawyer was recently sentenced to two years of probation, including eight months of home detention for his role in Antle’s money laundering. He was ordered to lose nearly $ 185,000 and a chimpanzee in the government.

The other co-defender, Jason Clay, was illegally revealed sold a chimpanzee in Antle in exchange for $ 200,000 in cash and a juvenile gibbon. He was sentenced to four months in prison, four months’ home detention, and was ordered to pay a fine of $ 4,000 in the Lacey Act award fund.
