UFC Fight Night results, highlights: Derrick Lewis batters Tallison Teixeira for first-round knockout

With a single fight at the UFC to his credit, Tallison Teixeira entered the main event of the UFC Fight Night evening on Saturday, seeking to enter the top 10 heavy goods vehicles. Teixeira was rude by the greatest artist with direct elimination of the UFC, Derrick Lewis, who finished Teixeira with strikes in just 35 seconds.
From the first moments, heavy goods vehicles were swinging heavy shots. A blow from the long 6 -inch teixeira arms of Teixeira amazed Lewis in the first seconds, with Lewis showing signs that a finger or a joint had been made in his eye.
Despite the potential potential, Lewis showed his brand finishing power, connecting with a left hook that dropped Teixeira to the canvas. Lewis continued the assault on the ground before referee Jason Herzog wanders the fight just like Teixeira reaches his feet – but with the help of illegally grasping the cage.
With the victory, Lewis Extended is an UFC record for the most Knockouts in the history of promotion. Teixeira was the 15th time that Lewis had arrested an opponent with strikes.
“I just knew that he had fought with tomato cans all his career,” said Lewis about his attitude when entering the fight with an unproven opponent.
The result gives a long -standing fans a great victory to remain relevant, but leaves the future of the heavyweight division in a complicated position.
Tom Aspinall was recently promoted from an intermediate champion to an undisputed champion after Jon Jones retired with the belt. Aspinall needs intriguing challengers in a division which is very in transition.
Rather than Teixeira emerging as a potential future threat, Lewis remains a relevant name in the 40 -year division and with two failed offers to win the Gold UFC (temporary and undisputed).
Lewis has also only 3-4 since 2022, although his popularity is sufficient to make him a possible fight with Aspinall.
