Women’s Super League: St Helens in stunning last-kick win to go top of league in Leeds Rhinos 22-20 victory | Rugby League News

St Helens is spectacularly at the top of the Betfred female Super League, while a last-minute converted test won a 22-20 victory against Leeds’ rhinos.

Friday evening, in a upside down competition which went to the thread at the AMT Headingley stadium, St Helens led 12-4 at halftime before the hosts fought to advance 20-16 with 13 minutes to do.

But the match turned with four minutes to play when Captain of Rhinoceros Mel Howard missed a penalty, which had been given for a high tackle, in a kick which would have indeed won the match for Leeds.

Two minutes later and, after a high bullet had confusion in the defense of Leeds, the former Rhinos Caitlin Casey star – the half -back that left Leeds at the end of last year – went to the corner for a test that leveled the scores.

Faye Gaskin then converted the next kick to give St Helens an incredible victory in two points.
